Zusammenfassung:The paper focuses on the mechanical response of short and long fibre composites on impact and analyses the differences of individual types of fibres on vibration, damping, modal properties analysis inside a material structure. The paper provides the analytical determination of the impact force. The impact testing is carried out by specially designed testing stand accompanied by contactless laser vibrometer to substitute the need of bump hammer and accelerometers. The measuring stand is designed to be universal for various composite materials and different shapes and dimensions. The paper provides the analysis of the measured results of focusing on damping properties carbon and glass fibres composites and their different material configurations, as well as conventional and nonconventional materials.
