Zusammenfassung:Present investigation is carried out to analyze the effects of process parameters on joint strength of weld joint in through transmission laser welding of acrylic plastic materials. Current, stand off distance and clamming pressure are selected as input parameters. Experiments have been conducted as per L27 orthogonal array of Taguchi method. Statistical techniques like analysis of variance and signal-noise-ratio have been applied on experimental data to determine the influenced process parameters. Main effect plots have also been made at mean of signal-noise-ration to identify the significant process variables on weld joint strength. Optimal parametric condition for maximization of weld joint strength has been obtained by Taguchi method. The results of the confirmation experiments show that the optimal laser transmission welding parameters can be determined effectively so as to improve joint strength of acrylic plastics through this approach.
