Zusammenfassung:The synthesis of samarium chloride coordinated single crystal was carried out at room temperature by slow evaporation method. The crystal possesses a well defined hexagonal morphology with six symmetrically equivalent growth sectors separated by growth boundaries. The theoretical morphology has been established by structural approach using Bravaise-Friedele-Donnaye-Harker (BFDH) law. Fourier transform infra red spectroscopy was carried in order to study the geometry and structure of the crystal. The detailed thermogravimetric analysis elucidates the thermal stability of the complex.
