Zusammenfassung:This paper deals with dynamic compaction of confined powders and associated wave dynamics. An experimental setup has been designed to generate one-dimensional dynamic compaction waves. Quantitative data such as displacement and velocity fields are obtained. A multiphase compaction model is considered as well and its results are compared to experimental data. Grain/wall friction is also modeled as it appeared to have significant effects when considering confined granular beds.
