Zusammenfassung:EPR study of Cu2+ doped NLO active Lithium Sulphate monohydrate (Li2SO4.H2O) single crystals were grown successfully by slow evaporation method at room temperature. The principal values of g and A tensors indicate existence of orthorhombic symmetry around the Cu2+ ion. From the direction cosines of g and A tensors, the locations of Cu2+ in the lattice have been identified as interstitial site. Optical absorption confirms the rhombic symmetry and ground state wave function of the Cu2+ ion in a lattice as dx2-y2.
