Zusammenfassung:An apparatus for the determination of magnetothermodynamic properties to high precision and low temperatures utilizing the field produced by a superconducting solenoid is described. The use of effluent heat exchangers and high efficiency wiring thermal anchors to minimize the consumption of liquid helium coolant during operation is discussed. Measurements of the magnetization and differential susceptibility as a function of field or temperature, as well as the heat capacity at constant field, may be determined without removal of the sample from the apparatus. Measurements on single crystals in various axial directions as well as on polycrystalline samples may be obtained using this apparatus. A discussion of the precision and accuracy of the measurements with this apparatus is presented.
