Electron paramagnetic resonance at high pressure using a diamond anvil cell

Zusammenfassung: | We have developed an X‐band electron resonance apparatus incorporating a diamond anvil cell to generate pressures up to 100 kbar. The system can operate down to 1.5 K and the pressure can be changed and calibrated via ruby fluorescence while at low temperature. The system differs from a conventional EPR cavity system in that the pressure gasket acts as the microwave resonator. For an initial application, the system is used to examine the pressure dependence of the magnetic properties of a chromium chalcogenide spinel, CdCr2Se4. |
