La reproducción de las cooperativas de agricultura familiar y economía solidaria: el caso de la unión nacional de cooperativas de la agricultura familiar y economía solidaria (UNICAFES)

This article presents an analysis of the main challenges faced by family farming cooperatives associated with the National Union of Cooperatives of Family Farming and Solidarity Economy (UNICAFES), an organization linked to the social movements of family farmers created in 2005. This entity aims to articulate and organize productive experiences of national economy that were being created throughout the country and did not find support in the traditional cooperatives and were facing strong resistance for effective incorporation and institutional sustainability. This organization that was formed with the intention of providing support to family farmers in the joint production chains linked with small property and national and inclusive economy sectors. The study presents the results of the analyses performed in the last five years of solidary cooperativism in Brazil.
