A Gestão da Informação em um Hospital Universitário: O Processo de Definição do Patient Core Record

This paper describes a research project that it is being developed inside Hospital de Clinicas de Porto Alegre, the UFRGS university hospital, as a master degree dissertation on Information Systems. The main goal is to define the information requirements of the patient record, through the users active participation. The definition of the Patient Core Record by different kinds of users (physicians, nurses, researchers, teachers and managers) will allow the hospital to move from the paper-based record to a successful computer-based one.
