Zusammenfassung: | A new coordination complex, [Zn(MCZ)3](NO3)2·H2O, was synthesized by the reaction of the aqueous solutions of zinc(II) nitrate and methyl carbazate. The complex was characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n. The central metal ion has distorted octahedral six-coordination environment, and is coordinated to bidentate MCZ ligands through carbonyl oxygen atoms and the terminal nitrogen atoms. [Zn(MCZ)3]2+ cations, NO3- anions and lattice water molecules are interconnected by electrostatic forces and hydrogen bonds into a 3-D network. The thermal decomposition mechanism was suggested by DSC and TG-DTG studies under the linear heating rates. [Zn(MCZ)3](NO3)2·H2O begins to decompose at 181.9 °C, and the final solid residue at 300 °C is ZnO. |
