Zusammenfassung: | This paper reports the effects of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) stressors and work intensity on mental functioning and reported clinical symptoms. A methodology involving maximal exertion treadmill running (simulation of an emergency-like escape from an underground mine following a disaster) was used in addressing specific issues relevant to the development of safe emergency procedures where the use of SCBAs is warranted. |
