Information management capabilities have recently been extended to visually handicapped personnel through the implementation of a Sensory Assistance Center at the Department of Justice. This paper discusses the analyzes and integration of human, mechanical and environmental components comprising the Center and the rigorous human factors testing of enhancement devices for special populations. Special user needs were identified and these findings applied to operating capabilities and limitations of the components in the Sensory Assistance Center. |
