Zusammenfassung: | The paper illustrates how information on terrain and materials can be of immense value in the planning and development of new or existing areas and how the engineering geologist can be a most important member of the engineering group during the entire project. The need for close co-operation between the various members of the planning team and a thorough understandIng of each other's requirements is emphasised and some methods of presentation are proposed which it is felt will allow the information to be most easily assimilated by the respective users. Attention is drawn to the financial savings which might be realised by not only utilising the information during the planning stages but also by making the information available to the contractor at the tendering stage. |
