Zusammenfassung: | Ten faecal samples of grey rhebuck Pelea capreolus were collected quarterly in the south-eastern Orange Free State. Microscopic analysis, based on the frequency of occurrence of floristic components in the faeces, indicated that the diet consisted of ca 88% dicotyledons and ca 10% monocotyledons throughout the year. The floristic composition of feeding areas selected during the day did not differ significantly from that of surrounding control areas, indicating that these feeding areas were not selected only on floristic composition. |
