All complexes have been characterized using standard spectroscopic tools. The coordination of both classical NHC and pyridine ligands around the platinum(
ii
) center in complex [

] has been established by using single crystal XRD.
New bimetallic platinum(
ii
) complexes with bis-NHC donor ligands featuring 4,4′-di-substitution pattern of the central biphenyl ring have been presented. The complex [
