Influence of Ce2O3 and CeO2 promoters on Pd/MgO catalysts in the dry-reforming of methane

Zusammenfassung:In this study, the conversion of methane and CO 2 to synthesis gas using dry reforming over Pd/MgO catalysts using different concentrations of Ce 3+ and Ce 4+ was investigated. Moreover, the factors that contribute to the deposition of carbon during the co-precipitation method were examined. The catalysts used in this study were prepared using K 2 CO 3 as the precipitant. The characterization of the catalysts was performed using state-of-the-art techniques such as XRD, XPS, FT-IR, TPR-H 2 , BET, TEM, FE-SEM, and TGA. It was found that with the addition of Ce promoter, the Pd/Mg 0.85 Ce 015 O catalyst exhibited a high level of activity (CH 4 : 54%, and CO 2 : 74%) with excellent stability. The results of this analysis also revealed the outstanding anti-coking activity of the reduced catalyst with low Pd metal. In addition, we studied the catalytic performance and stability of the produced catalysts. In this study, the conversion of methane and CO 2 to synthesis gas using dry reforming over Pd/MgO catalysts using different concentrations of Ce 3+ and Ce 4+ was investigated.
