Diketopyrrolopyrrole (ACQ-gen) and tetraphenylethenes (AIE-gen) are linked together with phenyl bridges. The derivatives show substantially enhanced and red-shifted emission in the solid state. Bridging DPP (ACQ-gen) and TPE (AIE-gen) with phenyls derived TPE-ph-DPP conjugates displaying enhanced and red-shifted emission in the solid state.
