Zusammenfassung:Single-component room-temperature discotic nematics have been achieved within large temperature ranges by introducing an attraction-enhancing protrusion onto hexa(phenylethynyl)benzenes. X-ray diffraction investigations revealed the nematic phases of these new discotic nematic materials to be cybotactic.
