Dihydroarylfuran skeletons are efficiently synthesized from ( Z )-bromonitroalkenes and naphthol derivatives in good yields and excellent enantioselectivities by using squaramide catalysis. Chiral trans -dihydroarylfuran derivatives can be efficiently synthesized from ( Z )-bromonitroalkenes and naphthol derivatives with good yields and excellent ee's by using squaramide catalysis.
