Zusammenfassung: | Lipoxins are naturally occurring signalling molecules which play an integral role in the resolution of inflammation. In this review, we highlight the synthetic and biological developments of novel stable Lipoxin analogues, which show resistance to enzymatic metabolism. This article aims to illustrate the major and noteworthy synthetic obstacles and achievements which have dominated this active area of research over the past twenty five years. We examine the synthetic routes to stable Lipoxin analogues and the evaluation of their biological potency in an ongoing effort to provide novel therapeutic agents to combat an array of inflammatory diseases.
