Zusammenfassung: | Diabetes causes disorders in the performance of endothelial progenitor cells, and obesity and vitamin D deficiency are associated with endothelial dysfunction and cardiovascular disease. This case-control study investigated the relationship between serum CD34 antigen and vitamin D levels and insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes. The results showed that CD34 has a significant inverse relationship with BMI, A1C, fasting blood glucose, insulin resistance, and insulin levels and has a significant direct relationship with vitamin D levels. Both CD34 and vitamin D were found to be significantly associated with type 2 diabetes. The association between reduced CD34 and vitamin D levels with type 2 diabetes and increased insulin resistance suggests that these parameters may be helpful in assessing diabetes and predicting its complications. |
