Zusammenfassung: | A torn TA is a devastating injury and majority of the cases are sports-related. Several procedures have been developed over the years and these have continued to evolve.
The keys to a successful outcome are still the same:
A Thorough Physical Examination
A Sound Surgical Technique
Strong Suture Material
A Good Physical Therapy Program
I would like to present a method I have been using for the past twenty years. Only the post-op rehabilitation course has changed.
In 2008, I drastically changed my system after surgery. The highlights are the following:
Full Weight Bearing Started Immediately with a Cast Boot
Active Range of Motion Allowed as Tolerated
Stretching Exercises Started After 4 Weeks
Strengthening Program Started After 6 Weeks
Running, Trampoline Exercises and Sports-Specific Drills After 3 Months
Back to Sports After 4 Months |
