Zusammenfassung: | Acute kidney injury in women during pregnancy and the puerperium is often ascribed to hypertensive complications of pregnancy, especially pre-eclampsia. However, rarer causes, including atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS) can be triggered by pregnancy. We present a case of a woman with post-partum acute kidney injury due to aHUS, which was successfully treated with the C5a inhibitor eculizumab. We also present a summary of the evaluation and management of thrombotic microangiopathy in pregnancy. |
