Hemolysis After Transcatheter Mitral Valve Implantation Resolved by Valve Retensioning

Transcatheter mitral valve implantation is an emerging technology for the treatment of inoperable or high-risk patients with symptomatic severe mitral regurgitation. Known technical issues are obstruction of the left ventricular outflow tract, paravalvular leakage, and hemolysis. We report a case of...

Zusammenfassung:Transcatheter mitral valve implantation is an emerging technology for the treatment of inoperable or high-risk patients with symptomatic severe mitral regurgitation. Known technical issues are obstruction of the left ventricular outflow tract, paravalvular leakage, and hemolysis. We report a case of valve retensioning successfully resolving paravalvular leakage and hemolysis. (Level of Difficulty: Intermediate.) [Display omitted]
