Zusammenfassung:Some patients may need mechanical ventilation support during severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) (coronavirus disease-2019, COVID-19) infection and may eventually require tracheostomy in the following days. Tracheostomy is considered as a high-risk procedure for surgeons and operative personnel in terms of air contamination. We present a case of percutaneous dilational tracheostomy performed in a patient with COVID-19 pneumonia and the methods we used to reduce contamination risks for the healthcare staff.
