Hyposmia, constipation, and rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder are considered prodromal symptoms of PD that often precede motor symptoms. [17] reviewed the roles of a hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1 negative regulator, Inhibitory PAS domain protein (IPAS), in the PINK1 and Parkin pathway using cultured cells and mice.
