Global incidence and trends in intra- and extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma from 1993 to 2012

In the 20 years examined, intra- and extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma incidence increased in the majority of countries worldwide, including in traditionally low-risk regions. ICC and ECC incidence may continue to increase due to metabolic and infectious etiologic factors.
