Zusammenfassung:Graphical abstract Highlights ► We developed a transcutaneous vaccine formulation using a hydrogel patch. ► We performed clinical trial for vaccination against tetanus and diphtheria in human. ► The vaccine formulation did not induce local or systemic severe adverse events. ► Toxoid-specific serum antibody titers increased by application of the formulation. ► This formulation will enable mass treatment and increase of vaccination rates.
