Zusammenfassung:The purpose of the photo contest was to raise awareness of various public health issues through a collection of pictorial presentations of the diverse public health scenarios in Bangladesh and to promote sustainable and impactful public health interventions. The book vividly depicted various public health issues currently facing Bangladesh; featured a foreword by Marie Diener-West, chair of the master of public health program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health; and gained praise from esteemed public health leaders. A poster documenting the photo contest also was presented at various national and international events and conferences. Copies of Public Health: Through the Lens have since been accepted at many renowned libraries and archives around the world. Realizing the value of photography as advocacy for health promotion and education, and the potential effect of public health that both the book and the photo contest may create through raising awareness on public health issues and promoting health nationally and globally, another nationwide photo contest was held in 2019. This was announced through a press conference at the National Press Club on June 18, 2019; entries were closed on September 9, 2019, and will culminate in an exhibition and guest lectureship.
