Zusammenfassung: | This study presents a case series with a clinical syndrome characterized by burning pain in the mouth area and choreic movements of the tongue. This symptom complex is chronic and it predominantly affects elderly women. Pathophysiology of this entity is uncertain. Many of the patients had been treated with dopaminergic blocking agents previously, and therefore it could be a peculiar tardive syndrome. Similarities with other conditions involving pain and abnormal movements affecting the same anatomical area are highlighted. |
