Zusammenfassung: | This cross-sectional descriptive retrospective epidemiological pilot study determined the frequency, circumstances, type, and outcome of injuries in the members of a Kansas City women's flat track roller derby league. Injuries were reported by 79% of the respondents, with 50% having sustained multiple injuries. Medical attention was required by 64%. The risk of injury in the sport is high. Further study is needed to identify specific factors that can be modified to decrease the injury rate. |
