Zusammenfassung: | The study examines the prevalence of diabetes and prediabetes among adults with severe mental illnesses (SMI) in Kaiser Permanente Northern California. To estimate diabetes prevalence, the primary outcome measure was inclusion in the KPNC diabetes registry at any time before Dec 31, 2014. The study found that diabetes and prediabetes prevalence in this antipsychotic-treated SMI population was higher among racial and ethnic minorities compared with whites, with differences appearing as early as age 20 years. |
