Zusammenfassung: | [...]VA performance on many process of care quality measures across the full spectrum of health care services (prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and followup) is better than in non-VA health care systems.3 Veterans often report higher levels of satisfaction with VA health care than their counterparts receiving care in the private sector.4 The ongoing industry-wide shifts to value-based health care delivery across the nation are in part reflected by the VA implementation of the Veterans Choice Act of 2014.2 This legislation expanded access to community (i.e., non-VA) care for veterans, and resulted in enterprise-wide transformational initiatives centered on increasing patient engagement and promoting evidence-based care. [...]poor quality studies were systematically excluded. [...]the majority of the VA patient population who participated in these studies were probably male. [...]the independent effects of gender on mortality may not be entirely accounted for in the results. [...]the review focused on mortality. |
