Efficacy of parainfluenza virus 5 (PIV5)-based tuberculosis vaccines in mice

Highlights • We developed a novel TB vaccine that is as effective as BCG in mice. • Using BCG-prime and novel-vaccine boost, we further enhanced efficacy of the vaccine candidates. • We have for the first time shown that PIV5 is effective as a vaccine vector for bacteria pathogen.
