Progesterone receptor (PR) polyproline domain (PPD) mediates inhibition of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling in non-small cell lung cancer cells

Highlights • Using a tetracycline-inducible lentiviral system, we successfully constructed an in vitro cell model to examine the role of progesterone receptor in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). • We, for the first time, provided direct evidence that PR expression in NSCLC inhibited cell prolifer...

Zusammenfassung:Highlights • Using a tetracycline-inducible lentiviral system, we successfully constructed an in vitro cell model to examine the role of progesterone receptor in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). • We, for the first time, provided direct evidence that PR expression in NSCLC inhibited cell proliferation. • The polyproline domain in PR was shown to mediate PR inhibition of NSCLC proliferation through impeding with EGFR signal transduction.
