Relating wrist accelerometry measures to disability in older adults

Highlights • Wrist acclerometry was related to difficulty performing activities of daily living. • Average routine activity and immobile time were calculated for the wake periods over three days of wear. • Higher mean activity level was associated with fewer reported difficulties. • Less time spent immobile was associated with fewer reported difficulties. • Associations persisted after controlling for self-reported moderate-to-vigorous activity over the prior year.
