Geometrical confinement of Gd(DOTA) molecules within mesoporous silicon nanoconstructs for MR imaging of cancer

Highlights • Gd(DOTA) is stably conjugated to mesoporous silicon nanoconstructs for MR imaging. • Gd3+ -ions relaxivity is enhanced by 5 times as compared to clinical agents. • Nanoconstructs accumulate up to 2% ID/g tissue in low perfused ovarian tumors.
