Androgen metabolites impact CSF amines and axonal serotonin via MAO-A and -B in male macaques

Highlights • MAO-A expression was suppressed by metabolism of T to E. • MAO-B expression was increased by T and DHT. • Aromatase was not regulated by T or its metabolites. • CSF-5HIAA positively correlated with MAO-A expression.
