Zusammenfassung:Children with severe cutaneous burn injury show persistent metabolic abnormalities, including inflammation and insulin resistance. Such abnormalities could potentially increase their future risk for developing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and cardiovascular disease (CVD). This could be related to changes in body composition and fat distribution. We studied body composition, fat distribution, and inflammatory cytokines changes in children with severe burn injury up to 6 months from discharge.
