False positive PET–CT scan and clinical examination in a patient with locally advanced vulvar cancer

Highlights ► PET–CT scan was positive for metastasis of vulvar cancer to lymph nodes however they were histologically negative. ► Frozen section analysis should be performed at the time of surgery to confirm status of suspicious lymph nodes.
