Dietary cholesterol increases ventricular volume and narrows cerebrovascular diameter in a rabbit model of Alzheimer’s disease

Highlights • Rabbits fed cholesterol develop increased ventricle volume and decreased vascular diameter. • These indices of pathology are similar to those seen in Alzheimer’s disease. • Cholesterol may induce hepatotoxicity requiring careful titration or even cessation of the diet.
