Qualitative responses to a national physician survey on HPV vaccination

Highlights • We present an analysis of qualitative comments from a nationwide sample of physicians on human papillomavirus vaccination. • Analyzing independently-offered comments allows for insight that may not be captured on quantitative, forced-choice measures. • Survey brevity and up-front cash incentives will improve response rates. • Physicians want recognition for following guidelines, but also need clarity on the disparities among national guidelines. • Physicians need more information on the safety and efficacy of the HPV vaccine.
