Highlights ► Stress had no effect on ethanol-induced CTA in adolescents or adults. ► Among stressed adults only, kappa antagonism attenuated ethanol-induced CTA. ► Stressed adolescents and adults were less sensitive to kappa agonist-induced CTA.
