Effects of ceftriaxone on the acquisition and maintenance of ethanol drinking in peri-adolescent and adult female alcohol-preferring (P) rats

Highlights • CEF treatment reduced the maintenance of ethanol intake. • The beneficial effect of CEF was pronounced in rats pretreated with CEF. • Reductions in ethanol intake were paralleled by an upregulation of GLT1 levels.
