Gender differences in trunk, pelvis and lower limb kinematics during a single leg squat
Highlights ► We investigate gender differences in multi-joints movement strategies to complete a squat on a single leg. ► Females flex less their trunk and display greater hip adduction and knee abduction than males. ► Females rotate non weighting trunk and pelvis toward the weight-bearing limb at 4...

Zusammenfassung: | Highlights ► We investigate gender differences in multi-joints movement strategies to complete a squat on a single leg. ► Females flex less their trunk and display greater hip adduction and knee abduction than males. ► Females rotate non weighting trunk and pelvis toward the weight-bearing limb at 45° of knee flexion. ► Males rotate their trunk toward the weight-bearing limb and pelvis toward the nonweight-bearing limb. ► Females show a multi-segmental movement pattern that could expose them to knee injury and pain development. |
