Complete sequence of the bovine β-lactoglobulin cDNA

Beta-lactoglobulin ( beta -lg) is the major whey protein found in bovine milk and its protein structure is known. A role for beta -lg in the transport of retinol to the infant has been suggested. The authors report the full length cDNA sequence of the beta -lg A variant. Although isolation of cDNAs for this protein and partial sequences for this cDNA have recently been reported, they differ significantly from the sequence reported here.
