Zusammenfassung: | In an earlier report, the authors described the isolation and characterization of several molecular clones from Plasmodium falciparum that contain a highly repeated sequence. Since this repeat is present only in P. falciparum but not in other human and non-human Plasmodium species, they will refer to it as the falci element. The authors have derived restriction maps for three different molecular clones, pPL-7, pPL-15, lambda PL-7-10, with inserts of 13.4, 4.0 and 1.7 kb, respectively, and all of which contain multiple copies of the repeat. |
