Zusammenfassung:In summary, there is increasing evidence that cell adhesion molecules play an important role in cardiovascular pathology. They are involved in the main processes that underlie cardiac disease including thrombosis, leucocyte infiltration, smooth muscle proliferation, and cell migration. Anti-integrin treatment is already widely used to treat thrombotic complications, and it seems likely that manipulation of other cell adhesion molecules will be used clinically in the near future.
