Diagnostic dilatation and curettage in young women

Dilatation and curettage is diagnostically inaccurate and therapeutically ineffective. When performed on its own, the procedure will miss 10% of endometrial lesions. Replacement of the procedure with outpatient endometrial biopsy is discussed in an editorial.
