Neuromuscular blockade due to gentamicin sulfate

Iatrogenic disease is difficult to recognize when the clinical condition of a patient may mask a drug's uncommon side effect. The authors report a case of probable gentamicin sulfate-induced diaphragmatic paralysis, initially attributed to aspiration pneumonia or "frailty" of old age.
